Year 2007

On the 14th of July 2007, four ex Royal Engineers met up after thirty nine years at RM Chivenor, the home of 59 Commando Sqn RE. They had served together on Operation Crown, a SEATO project to build an airfield in the North East of Thailand. They were happy to see each other again after all this time. After spending the weekend reminiscing, they vowed to contact as many old mates as possible and organise a reunion two years hence. The 'Four Muckers' are, John 'Ginge' Hamnett, George 'Jock' Smart, Mick 'Robens' Allen and Carlton 'Buck' Brown.

It was decided to create a web site as a focal point of contact. Above is the About page of the original creopcrown website. The picture right is a screenshot of the index page of the site when it went live exactly one week before Christmas 2007. The creopcrown website was and still is, the original and only standalone, dedicted website, to Operation and Post Crown. It has been a great success in the joining together of Operation/Post Crown veterans. The original aim of the Chivenor four.
